ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Initiatives, projects, services and activities aimed at improving the mobility of people with disabilities, with particular attention to travel, guidance and rest; promotion of initiatives and projects with a national character; development of operational synergies to improve the services offered on the territory, through the provision of the respective territorial offices and formal and informal networks; implementation agreements and agreements for the implementation of projects, activities and services aimed at people with disabilities and their families; initiatives, seminars and information and training courses on mobility, guidance, transport, tourism and sports; studies, research, publications and dissemination materials in areas of common interest; joint development, at the ACI tanks, of a simplified iter for the achievement, reclassification or renewal of the special B driving license, through the promotion of the C.S.I.M.A. (Integrated Mobility Accessible Center) and the use of advanced tools – such as ratings of residual motor skills and multi-adapted driving simulators – fundamental in the propedeutic path to special license. These are, in extreme synthesis, the highlights of the three-year agreement protocol signed today between ACI – Automobile Club of Italy – and ANGLAT – National Association of Legislations Autonomie Transport for people with disabilities – to unite culture, vision, experiences and knowledge in improving the quality of mobility of people with disabilities and their families. “The signing of this agreement – said President ANGLAT, Claudio Puppo – is of particular importance, because it strengthens the commitment that ANGLAT has been carrying out for forty-five years to promote a mobility that is a concrete instrument of autonomy, dignity and full participation in social life. The collaboration with the ACI – Ready2Go network guide schools will allow an increasing number of people with disabilities to access the path for the achievement or reclassification of the special license. At the same time, the synergy between ANGLAT and the Public Automobile Registry will be fundamental to support the training meetings promoted by the PRA management and to overcome the criticalities related to the recognition and granting of tax benefits, such as reduction or exemption from the Provincial Transcription Tax and the stamp of circulation. The goal is to simplify procedures for the direct benefit of people with disabilities.” “ This Memorandum of Understanding – said Extraordinary Commissioner ACI, Gen. Tullio Del Sette – is an important concrete step towards truly accessible and inclusive mobility. The Automobile Club of Italy thus confirms its institutional commitment to guarantee equal opportunities, security and autonomy to people with disabilities, enhancing skills, advanced tools and a capillary territorial network. The agreement with ANGLAT strengthens a vision of mobility as a fundamental right, to protect and develop with seriousness, competence and responsibility”. “With this agreement – said the elected President of ACI, Geronimo LaRussia – the ACI confirms its commitment to the service of modern, fair and truly accessible mobility. Inclusion is not an abstract principle, but a fundamental objective to be achieved through precise operational choices, investments in training and innovation and tools capable of transforming rights into effective opportunities. Paths such as those dedicated to special driving are an example of how the ACI intends to continue to play an active and responsible role in building a more just, safer and more attentive mobility to people.”.
