ROMA (ITALPRESS) – This morning, a Unifil patrol engaged in the reclamation of explosive devices along a road in the village of Ghanduriyah, in order to restore the connections with the isolated positions of Unifil, was made subject to gunshots fired by non-state actors. On X the same Unifil, according to which “unfortunately, a soldier of the peace force died due to the wounds reported, and three others were injured, two of which were seriously injured. The wounded soldiers were transported to medical facilities to receive the necessary care.”.
UNIFIL condemns “this deliberate attack against blue helmets engaged in carrying out their tasks. The work of the teams of bombers is fundamental in the operational area of the mission, especially in the light of recent hostilities.”.
Unifil believes that the author of the attack would be Hezbollah and asks the Lebanese government to quickly start an investigation “to identify and secure justice for the crimes committed against blue helmets.”.
