The New Mazda6e embodies harmony through the balance of light and shadow, sharpness and roundness; these contrasts create a dynamic feel even when stationary. Mazda’s “Kodo – Soul of Motion” design language comes to life through flowing surfaces and a low profile, with parallel lines that enhance the car’s dynamic presence. This appearance is further emphasized by the fusiform aero shape, reminiscent of a beautifully sculpted cylinder, in which all lines seem to converge at a single point. This seamless, fluid shape reinforces the car’s aerodynamic elegance and sense of movement. Sculpted door panels, inspired by the spray a speedboat generates by slicing through water, create a glowing effect that further enhances the feeling of movement. The rear radiates power and stability and incorporates four distinct cylindrical taillight elements, a discreet homage to Mazda’s treasured design tradition.
For the first time Mazda offers a light signature that illuminates the front of the Mazda6e, with dynamic light animation to visually indicate charging. The rear blends classic and modern design, with a horizontal line adding finesse and width, while the four cylindrical elements honor Mazda tradition. Doors with frameless windows and retractable door handles enhance aesthetic homogeneity, while the rear spoiler with automatic speed-dependent venting improves aerodynamics and stability at high speeds.
“The Mazda6e’s cabin is inspired by Japanese simplicity, built around the design principle of ‘ma,’ the power of empty space,” says Jo Stenuit. “By deliberately creating voids, Mazda achieves a harmonious balance that enhances both aesthetics and functionality.” The floating horizontal dashboard extends through the cabin, creating a sense of openness and serenity, while the protruding center console enhances driver concentration and safety. The interior design favors minimalism with depth, replacing excess buttons and screens with an intuitive and thoughtful arrangement of controls.
The standard panoramic roof invites natural light into the cabin, reinforcing the feeling of spaciousness and airiness. Tinted glass and thermal insulation ensure comfort in all conditions. The sophisticated ambient lighting system, which can be customized in 64 colors, enhances the premium atmosphere with soft, indirect lighting. Front seats with integrated headrests lend modern elegance while offering exceptional comfort. Mazda offers a choice of high-quality upholstery: synthetic leather in beige or black for the Takumi trim and a combination of luxurious sand-colored Nappa leather and suede fabric for the Takumi Plus trim. Subtle satin chrome accents and meticulous stitching complete the refined and sophisticated appearance.
