New Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, the exclusive limited edition

STOCKHOLD (GERMANY) (ITALPRESS) – As the first model in the limited Mercedes-Benz Mythos series, the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed celebrated its world premiere at the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix. A radical high-performance two-seater super car that is completely open, with no roof or windshield, it aims to be a tribute to motorsport history and offer an unforgettable driving experience. “The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is the most direct way to experience performance and fun behind the wheel. Thanks to the car’s radically open design, with no roof or windshield, there is nothing separating the driver and passenger from the external elements, allowing them to fully appreciate the vehicle, the road and the landscape with their five senses. The striking design reinterprets elements of legendary racing cars and creates a fascinating and timeless silhouette. In this way, the PureSpeed brings together AMG’s traditional strengths: highly emotional, ultra-high-performance vehicles that inspire – at a glance and behind the wheel,” said Michael Schiebe, Managing Director of Mercedes-AMG and Head of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Mercedes-Maybach Business Units. The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed celebrates Mercedes-Benz’s motorsports heritage with its exciting race car design, innovative materials and modern technology. The exclusive special edition is limited to only 250 examples. The design of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is characterized by a combination of a low silhouette, a long hood and a very low front end with a distinctive shark nose. With its wide air intake, AMG lettering and dark chrome Mercedes star on the soft nose, the front end is reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG ONE. It also features an aerodynamically optimized hood. The precision work of the aerodynamics team is also evident in the small, partially transparent baffles on the front and sides of the car, which prevent turbulence from disturbing drivers and passengers. The exposed carbon-fiber aerodynamic elements, well defined in the lower part of the car, create a strong contrast to the sensuous, round shapes of the upper part. The trunk lid and rear diffuser are also aerodynamically optimized. Their design takes into account the lack of a roof. The design of the 21-inch forged aluminum wheels features carbon fiber covers on the front and rear axles. The rear covers are fully closed to reduce air resistance. The front covers are open to optimize front-end airflow and brake cooling. The front mounts 275/35 R 21 tires on 9.5 J x 21-inch rims; the rear uses 305/30 R 21 tires on 11.0 J x 21-inch rims. Another highlight is the HALO system, which the car uses instead of the traditional A-pillar. This element was inspired by the premier class of motorsport and has been part of every Formula 1 vehicle since 2018 to protect the driver’s head in the event of an accident. The safety system of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed consists of a strong tubular steel bracket. The safety element is firmly attached to the car’s body structure. The aerodynamically optimized component protects both passengers and forks behind the car’s occupants. The rollover protection system also includes two rigid roll bars, hidden under the aerodynamic spoilers. These components are also part of the shell structure. An interesting detail is that HALO is indirectly illuminated at the bottom by thin LED strips, taking ambient lighting to a new level. There are also two aerodynamically optimized helmets designed and made especially for the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed. They are available in the color of the car and are equipped with an intercom communication system. The helmets allow the driver and passenger to communicate clearly, even at high speeds. As an additional feature, smartphones can be paired with the intercom system, allowing the driver and passenger to talk on the phone and listen to music through the helmet speakers. Many other features also pay homage to motorsport. The two vents behind the seats bear the AMG emblem and are reminiscent of legendary racing cars such as the 300 SLR, the car that Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson drove to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia. The PureSpeed is available in the exclusive Silver Arrow finish in mystic silver magno.
