New Year’s Eve drone show and record-breaking fireworks display for Ras Al Khaimah

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Ras Al Khaimah welcomed 2025 with a drone and fireworks show, setting two new Guinness world records titles for “Largest aerial depiction of a tree made by drones” and “Largest aerial image of a shell made by drones.”
The show titled “Our Story in the Sky” delivered a memorable celebration, paying tribute to the Emirate’s natural and cultural heritage. The event redefined the way the world welcomes the New Year, setting a new standard for immersive and meaningful celebrations. Going beyond traditional fireworks, the innovative combination of three-dimensional art with drones, lasers and synchronized pyrotechnic effects transformed the night sky into an extraordinary living canvas. Breathtaking images depicted iconic symbols of Ras Al Khaimah’s natural landscapes and culture, delivering unforgettable emotions.
Commenting on the achievement, Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), noted that “This year’s New Year celebrations are an ideal tribute to Ras Al Khaimah’s extraordinary achievements in tourism in 2024. Winning two Guinness world records titles through such a spectacular and meaningful show is a testament to our Emirate’s innovative spirit and cultural pride.

Stretching more than five kilometers along the Ras Al Khaimah coastline, the show pushed the boundaries of innovation and creativity, unfolding in three spectacular acts that left audiences breathless: Shifting Sands brought to life the Emirate’s ever-changing ecosystem, representing the eternal link between the land and the life that inhabits it. Mysteries of the Sea celebrated the maritime heritage of Ras Al Khaimah and its tradition in pearl fishing, enchanting the audience with elegant depictions of underwater life. Finally, Guiding Starlight paid tribute to the Emirate’s historic art of navigation, with celestial images and shooting stars symbolizing the importance of the sea, culminating in a dazzling crescendo of pyrotechnics that lit up the night sky.
More than 100,000 residents and visitors gathered along the coast of Ras Al Khaimah and at the Ras Al Khaimah New Year 2025 Festival to experience the event. The festival, with free admission, offered spaces specially designed for families and singles.
