ROME (ITALPRESS) – Nissan announced that global production of e-Power-equipped vehicles, sold in 68 markets worldwide, has exceeded 1.5 million units.e-Power technology is a Nissan patent that is unmatched in the market. Consisting of a 100 percent electric motor that drives the car’s wheels and a heat engine that produces power, e-POWER delivers the brilliant, progressive and linear acceleration typical of electric vehicles, but without the need for plug-in charging. Launched in Japan in 2016, e-Power was first adopted on the Nissan Note model and then extended to the Kicks and X-Trail crossovers and the Serena minivan. In fiscal year 2023 (April 2023/March 2024), 42.6 percent of Nissan vehicles sold in Japan are equipped with e-Power powertrains. In China, e-Power has been available since 2021 on the Sylphy sedan and now also on the X-Trail. In Europe, e-POWER was launched in the summer of 2022 and is available on Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail. Highly regarded for its driving pleasure, low fuel consumption and quietness, more than 100,000 European customers have already chosen this technology, including more than 20,000 in Italy. And today, also in Italy, 60 percent of Qashqai sold to private customers are with e-Power powertrain.Nissan plans to launch e-Power in the United States and Canada by the end of fiscal year 2026. The advantages and pleasure of driving electrically together with the simplicity of fueling with gasoline and the ability to travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a full tank, make e-Power the best transition technology from thermal mobility to fully sustainable mobility.
