Notre-Dame doors reopened, Macron “restored to the world”

PARIS (FRANCE) (ITALPRESS) – After five years since the tragic fire on April 15, 2019, the doors of the Notre-Dame de Paris Basilica reopen. More than 40 world leaders, including U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, attended the reopening of the cathedral. Heavy rain falling on the transalpine capital forced organizers to move the celebrations from the parvis to inside the basilica. Before the evenyo Macron met with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Zelensky at the Elysee Palace. President Mattarella, upon his arrival at Notre-Dame was welcomed directly by President Macron. Also among those present were EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Prince William. “I express France’s gratitude to those who saved, helped and rebuilt Notre-Dame, which is now more beautiful than before thanks to everyone’s contribution.” This was said by French President Emmanuel Macron, during the ceremony to reopen the Notre-Dame Basilica in Paris after the 2109 fire. “We give it back to the faithful, the French and the whole world a cathedral more beautiful than before. The bells that have accompanied our history are ringing again. Music of hope. We want to continue the legend of this cathedral,” he said again.
