Open Arms trial, Salvini acquitted because the fact does not exist “A beautiful day”

PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini has been acquitted in the first instance as part of the Open Arms trial because “the fact does not exist”: this was announced in the bunker room of Pagliarelli prison by Court President Roberto Murgia. Salvini, at the time of the facts minister of the Interior, was charged with kidnapping and refusal to perform acts of office for having prevented for days the landing of 147 migrants rescued by the Spanish NGO in August 2019: six years of sentence had been requested against him. “It’s a beautiful day,” the vice premier commented.
