TURIN (ITALPRESS) – All Jeep showrooms in Italy will open their doors on Saturday, Jan. 25, and Sunday, Jan. 26, to indulge Italian motorists’ interest in Jeep’s SUV range, which has just completed a commercially satisfying 2024. For example, Jeep Avenger was Italy’s best-selling SUV, as well as the third best-selling model overall, while Renegade and Compass, Jeep’s Made in Italy SUVs, played leading roles in their respective segments. It will be an opportunity to learn more about e-Hybrid technology, the gateway to Jeep’s electrified world and an extremely important resource for ensuring consumers have maximum freedom of choice. The new Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid is equipped with a powertrain based on a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that can offer an experience almost similar to a full-hybrid engine. A 100-hp heat engine paired with a 21-kW electric motor is integrated into a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 48-volt belt-driven starter generator for a smooth transition to electric drive that also ensures further reduction in CO2 emissions. The 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery is housed under the driver’s seat, with no reduction in cabin space, which remains identical to that of the gasoline-powered Jeep Avenger. Switching between propulsion types is done based on factors such as state of charge of the 48V battery (liquid-cooled and 17.5Ah capacity), real-time driving conditions and other monitored parameters. An intelligent system that ensures outstanding performance in different driving scenarios. Therefore, these vehicles adapt extremely smoothly to the demands of the road. This is true in the case of the 100% electric powertrain, which is smooth and quiet during start-up, the efficient hybrid mode at cruising speed, or the powerful internal combustion engine for acceleration. The e-Hybrid powertrain manages the propulsion system seamlessly, automatically alternating between 100% electric, hybrid and internal combustion engines even on the revamped Renegade and Compass MY24. The two SUVs, equipped with the 1,500-cfm GSE T4 turbocharged powertrain, integrate a large number of innovative features and components designed to improve efficiency and performance. The centerpiece is the GSE T4 engine, a turbocharged four-cylinder with Miller duty cycle that generates 130 hp and 240 Nm of maximum torque, ensuring power but also fuel economy. Another key element is the hybrid system. This incorporates an intelligent braking mechanism that allows energy to be harnessed during deceleration through regenerative braking. The engine is complemented by a Belt Starter Generator (BSG) mechanism. This component facilitates restarting the internal combustion engine (ICE) at low speeds, ensuring low emissions and uninterrupted operation. In addition, the transmission includes a P2.5 motor, which provides 15 kW of extra electric propulsion, strategically matched to the even gears for optimal efficiency. Power is provided by a compact 48V air-cooled battery pack, with a capacity of 17.5Ah and 0.8kWh, providing great energy storage for hybrid maneuvering. The hybrid control system, housed in a separate unit, coordinates the alternation of the various powertrains, optimizing performance in different driving conditions.Compass continues to captivate audiences with its balance of sustainability and power. This model, the heart of Jeep’s range in Europe, is one of the most popular choices among customers because of its ability to combine fuel efficiency and versatility.Renegade MY24 takes a big step forward in terms of multimedia thanks to the revamped 10.25-inch TFT digital cluster and the new 10.1-inch infotainment system, with five times the processing power of the previous generation. Also of note is the redesigned steering wheel, as well as the new high-resolution rear camera and Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, now wireless. All of these features become standard across the entire range.
