BRESCIA (ITALPRESS) – New intervention of the Antimafia Investigative Direction in Northern Italy. The Centro Operativo DIA di Brescia has obtained from the Court of Brescia – Section Autonomous Measures of Prevention, on a proposal from the Prosecutor of the Republic of Brescia, the application of the measure of non-ablative prevention of the judicial administration, provided by Article 34 of the Antimafia Code, against three companies based in the province of Verona. The measure is part of the investigation started in August 2024 and developed on the basis of the results of the investigation coordinated by the District Directorate Antimafia of Catanzaro, called “Operation Glicine-Acheronte”.
The three societies of Verona are added to the eight already affected by the same measure in the last summer in the provinces of Brescia and Mantua. Companies operate in the areas of rental and sale of properties, as well as in the cultivation of grapes and in the production and marketing of wine. The entire company, with a total turnover of approximately 2 million euros and an estimated real estate property in about 30 million euros, is traced back to an entrepreneur of Verona origin, currently under house arrest in Mantua since June 2023.
The in-depth investigations conducted by the DIA di Brescia, also through the analysis of reports of suspended operations of recycling transmitted to the Bank of Italy’s Financial Information Unit, have allowed to ascertain the existence of stable financial relations and co-interests, also of a foreign nature, with members of a family of ‘ndrangheta. On several occasions, such subjects would have shown interest in entrepreneurial investments in the area of Lake Garda, in particular on the Verona shore. According to what emerged, the contacts identified – considered not occasional – would significantly affect the operational and financial management of a significant part of the corporate structure of the entrepreneur.
The implementation of the measure was entrusted to the Operational Centre DIA in Brescia, while the administration of the three companies was, for a minimum duration of one year, to a college composed of two judicial directors.
