MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Pirelli presents Diablo Powercruiser, the new Custom-Touring line of high-performance tires designed for custom bikes and, in particular, for sportier models such as performance baggers, club style and power cruisers that offer significant levels of acceleration and are fun to ride, often the creations of customizers who focus on performance tuning by combining it with aesthetic research. Diablo Powercruiser is part of the Diablo family of racing and sporting products because it embodies Pirelli’s sporting DNA by declining it in the custom sphere and combining it with the sense of freedom that characterizes this world. It was created precisely to meet the needs of these motorcycles, which need tires that can offer high performance and sportiness, with the goal of becoming the new reference in its segment for grip and handling, even in the wet.Pirelli has decided to present the new Diablo Powercruiser at the Pirelli exhibition area that will be set up at Daytona Bike Week scheduled from Feb. 28 to March 9. The Diablo Powercruiser range is quite diverse in terms of both construction technology and size and includes both radial and conventional specifications with sizes ranging from 100 mm to 260 mm. Therefore, each size is specifically developed in terms of structure, materials, compounds and profile design according to the motorcycle it is intended for by adopting different specifications and solutions. In order to achieve a highly maneuverable Custom-Touring tire with high levels of grip capable of supporting higher dynamic stress, both in cornering and in braking and acceleration, Pirelli’s experience in Supersport and Racing contributed to the development of the structures. The structures modify stiffness according to the driving style: when it is touring, and therefore with lower levels of tire deformation, there is a comfortable, smooth and predictable ride; when the style is more sporty, they increase feedback as tire deformation increases, so as to ensure more precise steering, more lateral support and better control. This behavior represents the perfect balance between comfort and support, providing riders with confidence both at more touristy paces and in sportier riding. The radial sizes feature a 0-degree steel belt that contributes to a well-controlled footprint deformation, resulting in better tire adaptability at all lean angles and better stress distribution on the contact surface, which brings a great advantage in terms of grip and wear regularity.In terms of compounds, the rear radial sizes are bimescale and silica-enriched, combined with Cap&Base technology that provides a softer lateral compound for the benefit of grip at lean angles, supported by a harder compound substrate also positioned in the center band of the tread that ensures performance consistency and thermal balance. The size of the center compound band varies with tire size and contact area to ensure the best distribution of forces and thus provide the best possible riding feel and wear uniformity. The Cap&Base compound pattern offers excellent performance during sporty driving while the use of silica provides a wider operating temperature range that promotes a high level of grip even in wet conditions and consistency of performance. Rapid warm-up and grip even on wet surfaces are achieved through an innovative and specifically developed mix of resins, plasticizers and silica found in the compound composition. In addition, Pirelli’s unique and patented blending process maximizes the dispersion of all components in the polymer matrix so as to achieve a high level of homogeneity.Diablo POwercruiser profiles are multi-beam and sharper than those typically used in the Custom-Touring segment, to offer enhanced handling and very quick direction changes, while the flatter shoulder portion offers greater grip and trajectory grip in corners. Optimized sidewall height provides excellent traction in both straight-line acceleration and corner exit. The balance between the front and rear profiles provides excellent ride control and neutral behavior of the bike. Finally, at the level of design and finish it boasts all the accouterments adopted by Pirelli for all the latest products launched on the market. The high-contrast finish of the letters with the product name on the sidewall of the tire gives an elegant look. The “Flash” icon and the DIABLO logo symbolize the identity and heritage of the product family to which this tire belongs. Also on the sidewall is the “Long P” shape, further highlighting the brand’s dedication to excellence and craftsmanship, ensuring that every detail reflects the prestige and quality for which Pirelli is known.
