Pirelli unveils new reference tire for motocross

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Pirelli introduces the new Scorpion MX32 mid soft, the solution developed to deal with mid-soft soils, so from soft loam to more compact surfaces. It will also be used in World Championship 2025 to equip the bikes of some of the greatest champions of this Championship. In addition, like all Pirelli racing tires, it will also be available for purchase by all practitioners of this discipline who will thus be able to use the same tires used in competition by the great champions of motocross. The new tire is further refined through state-of-the-art technological and structural innovations that further raise the performance bar, offering grip, durability and handling in different conditions. This revamp brings improvements not only in technical aspects, such as the advanced tread pattern optimized to offer greater traction and more precision, but also in product design, with premium details that underscore Pirelli’s commitment to style as well. The result is a tire that successfully carries on the legacy of its iconic predecessor. Precisely because of this undisputed recognizability, Pirelli decided to keep the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft naming for the new product as well, but improved its all-around performance by acting on tread pattern, compounds, structures, and aesthetic appearance. Compared to its predecessor, braking behavior has been improved thanks to the innovative tread design of the front tire. The tread blocks in the center section have a new shape and arrangement that improve cushioning capabilities and stability through better ground penetration and, consequently, grip, allowing more control and effectiveness under braking. Easier cornering entry thanks to the front tire’s two center blocks that improve stability and cornering control, providing smoother handling and allowing for faster cornering.Increased traction in starts and exiting corners thanks to the rear tire’s side block shape that improves torsional stiffness for precise trajectories, while the lateral block arrangement increases cornering traction. The interaction between the center and side tread blocks improves traction under acceleration and lateral thrust in cornering. The front tire’s innovative tread pattern maximizes traction and lateral grip due to the section between the two center blocks. Versatility on medium-hard terrain increased due to the new tread compound that improves even wear and the shape and arrangement of the blocks that increase tear resistance offering consistent performance and durability in a variety of conditions. The development also included new materials and compounds. Both the tread area and sidewall compounds were improved. The completely redesigned tread incorporates a compound designed to offer very high grip, durability, and traction in difficult conditions. The front sidewalls feature an updated compound designed to provide greater flexibility and durability, contributing to improved performance. Pirelli’s latest advances in tire design have also made innovations at the structure level, improving performance, durability and the feeling transmitted to the rider. Finally, great attention has also been paid to design with refined details reinforcing its superior positioning, such as sidewalls with high-contrast finish lettering for better legibility and recognizability and a more elegant appearance.(ITALPRESS).-Photo: Pirelli press office-
