Pop Up, a monthly insert of Avvenire dedicated to 11- to 14-year-olds, is born

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Avvenire is enriching its information offerings with the launch of Pop Up, a new monthly current affairs insert dedicated to boys and girls in secondary schools (11-14 years old), coming out with Avvenire every first Tuesday of the month starting tomorrow, Oct. 1, in print and digital editions.Pop Up, 16 tabloid pages with high readability thanks to the use of a special font, addresses current events and major contemporary issues with the language of adolescents, simple, accessible but at the same time competent and serious, and aims to become a useful and valuable reading tool so that the very young can succeed in orienting themselves in a safe and conscious way in the complex (and constantly evolving) world of information. Over the years, Avvenire has always shown great attention to young people, through the publication of the historic insert Popotus – a current affairs newspaper for children, a unicum in the Italian publishing scene – and with a series of initiatives and projects for families and schools with the aim of “educating to the right and the beautiful” and stimulating the development of critical thinking.Pop Up, Popotus’ older brother, has the same goals for an older age group that, today more than ever, needs to find comprehensible answers that can stimulate their interest and enliven debate among peers. Pop Up will in fact also be distributed in schools, starting with 500 selected institutions and 2,000 classrooms involved throughout the country. “We are excited to launch an insert like Pop Up,” said Marco Girardo, editor-in-chief of Avvenire. “We want to reach a readership that is little considered by most newspapers, but which deserves quality information and needs attention to address especially complex issues such as digital education, civic education, civil economy, care for the environment, and relationships among peers and with adults, about which much is discussed among adults and insiders, but less is done directly with the new generations using their language. “The first issue of Pop Up, available at newsstands with Avvenire and by subscription on the subscriptions siteavvenire.it, will focus on the current issue of smart working, the environmental legacy left by the Russia-Ukraine war, the complex universe of fake news and much more with an inclusive, honest and sustainable approach, enriching the reading with reviews of TV series, books, video games, board games and closing with a comic strip to invite boys and girls to reflect on issues of particular collective interest through a tool suitable for them.- photo Avvenire press office -(ITALPRESS).
