ROME (ITALPRESS) – Pope Francis at the Angelus returned to the many conflicts ravaging the world, reiterating his “no to war, which destroys, destroys everything, destroys life and induces contempt. And let us not forget that always war is a defeat.” Then, he renewed his appeal, “especially to the rulers of the Christian faith, that we put our utmost effort into negotiations to end all ongoing conflicts. Let us pray for peace in the tormented Ukraine, in Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, North Kiwu. “The pontiff, recalling that today “in Italy we celebrate the Day of Life,” encouraged “young couples not to be afraid to bring children into the world.”Finally, he recalled that tomorrow the Vatican will hold the International Summit on Children’s Rights, entitled “Let’s Love and Protect Them,” “which I had the joy of promoting and in which I will participate,” he stressed. “It is a unique opportunity to bring to the world’s attention the most urgent issues that affect the lives of the little ones.
