ROME (ITALPRESS) – “I call for an immediate ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon, we pray for the Lebanese, especially for the people in the south who are forced to leave their villages.” So said Pope Francis at the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square in Rome.
“I appeal to the international community to put an end to the spiral of revenge and to stop repeating attacks like the one carried out by Iran a few days ago, which can plunge that region into an even greater war,” the Holy Father added, stressing, “All nations have the right to exist in peace and security in their territories, which must not be attacked or invaded. Sovereignty must be respected and guaranteed by dialogue and peace not hatred and war.”
