ROME (ITALPRESS) – “There is a need for hope, light and peace.” Pope Francis said this during the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square, commenting on today’s Gospel. “God always invites us to take the first step,” he added, then turned his thoughts to all war-torn regions. “Let us continue to pray for peace in Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Myanmar, Sudan. Let the international community act firmly so that humanitarian law is respected in conflicts. Stop targeting civilians, schools, hospitals, workplaces. Let us not forget that war is always a defeat,” the Holy Father added.
