Pope Francis “There is no place for abuse in the Church”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “Let us think about what happens when little ones are scandalized, hurt, abused by those who should care for them, the wounds of pain and helplessness first and foremost in the victims, but also in their families and in the community. With my mind and heart I go back to the stories of some of these ‘little ones’ I met the day before yesterday. I heard them, I felt their suffering as the abused and I repeat it here: in the Church there is room for everyone, everyone but everyone will be judged and there is no place for abuse, there is no place for covering up abuse.” So said Pope Francis during his homily during the Mass and beatification of Anne De Jesus at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. “I ask everyone: do not cover up abuse. I ask the bishops: do not cover up abuse. Condemn the abusers and help them recover from this disease of abuse. Evil is not hidden: evil must be brought out into the open, let it be known, as some abusers have done and with courage. Let it be known. And let the abuser be judged. Let the abuser be judged, whether layman, laywoman, priest or bishop: let him be judged,” the Holy Father concluded.
