VATICAN CITY (ITALPRESS) – “In these days I have felt so much the support of this closeness of yours, especially through the prayers with which you have accompanied me. Therefore, although I cannot be physically present among you, I express my great joy in knowing that you are united with me and with each other in the Lord Jesus, as the Church. I bless you and pray for you. And I commend you: you also continue to pray for me. Thank you.” Thus Pope Francis in the message prepared on the occasion of the Jubilee Pilgrimage of the Archdiocese of Naples and other dioceses, delivered this morning by Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, archbishop of Naples, during Mass in St. Peter’s Square. The message is dated from Policlinico Gemelli, March 22, 2025.
“Dear brothers and sisters of the Diocese of Naples and of many other dioceses present,” is the Holy Father’s message, “I greet you and your bishops on the occasion of the diocesan Jubilee Pilgrimages you are undertaking. In them is expressed the unity that gathers you as a community around your Pastors and the Bishop of Rome, as well as the commitment to embrace Jesus’ invitation to enter “through the narrow gate” (Mt 7:13). Love is like that: it unites and grows together. That is why, even with different paths, it has brought you here together at the tomb of Peter, from which you can depart even stronger in faith and more united in charity.”
