ROME (ITALPRESS) – “We pray for the battered Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, South Sudan and all peoples suffering from wars. War always is a defeat, always, and it is vile because it is the triumph of lies, of falsehood. It seeks maximum self-interest and maximum harm to the adversary by trampling human lives, environment, infrastructure. All masked by lies and the innocent suffer.” So said Pope Francis at the end of the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square, addressing the crowd present.
