ROME (ITALPRESS) – Presented today at the Anci headquarters in Rome the 3rd edition of the Sportcity Meeting that will take place April 11-13 in Assisi and Spello. The Sporticity Foundation, following up on what happened in 2023 in Salsomaggiore Terme, where the declaration of intent was signed for the sportification of the cities and in 2024 in Pietrasanta, where the idea of the ‘Republic of Movement’ was born, will once again give an appointment for ‘the general states of sport’ proposing a new and engaging format. A long weekend that, in the two Umbrian towns, will see the participation of more than 300 sports operators, national politicians, local administrators, business leaders and new stakeholders.

Meeting that will see the participation of, among others, Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, Undersecretary to the MASE with responsibility for Sport Claudio Barbaro, the Honorable Mauro Berruto, Senator Paolo Marcheschi and Senator Daniela Sbrollini, and Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo. Those scheduled in Umbria will be three days full of concrete initiatives, where participants will not only confront each other in the different working sessions, but will live real experiences in the two cities hosting the meeting.

Also presented at the meeting was the Pietrasanta/Lucca SportCity Edu on May 23 and 24, the new initiative of Sporticty Foundation. The Sportcity Meeting enjoys the patronage of ANCI, MASE, ICSC, RAI Umbria. RAI media partner.

THE INTERVIEW WITH PELLA (ANCI)

“Thank you first of all to the Sportcity Foundation for what it does and represents for all Italian sport, in particular I want to emphasize the great work of Fabio Pagliara who in recent years has worked with passion and commitment for the dissemination of sporting activities throughout the country – the words of Roberto Pella, deputy vice president of Anci – I also want to thank Rai because if sport is living such a brilliant moment we also owe it to those who act as a sounding board for so many disciplines. I would also like to thank Federico Serra for his support for the realization of the obesity law, which will give great impetus to the resolution of one of the biggest problems that afflict young and old Italians in terms of health.”

Thus Fabio Pagliara, president of Sportcity Foundation: “With the two meetings we want to create important content to communicate to the sports world. These moments of in-depth analysis serve to address together important issues in which we firmly believe. From the territories and local operators can come out elements of discussion for a sharing work that will serve all of us to find new operational strategies together. The ‘ball of rags of Pope Francis’ and the cast of the World Cup, which will be and exhibit in Assisi, will be a representative symbol and emotion for all.”

PAGLIARA’S WORDS

“We are proud to be here with Anci, which I always thank for the support it gives to all Italian sports,” stresses Federico Serra, president of the Permanent Observatory on Sport Fondazione SportCity. “The meeting we are presenting today will serve to find new ideas and new insights to improve, through sport, the quality of life of all citizens. 19 million Italians do not engage in physical activity, especially citizens in southern Italy have dramatic sedentary numbers. We need to make sure that we commit ourselves so that this gap will soon be eliminated. We will launch the Sportcity Lab to find solutions together in cities, connecting sport, environment and health.”
