ROMA (ITALPRESS) – There are 2.6 billion euros allocated for sport, another 1.1 billion for young people. These are the figures that stand out, among the many, in the report presented today in Rome, at the Campo dei Miracoli al Corviale, by the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi. Three years after the settlement of this government, Abodi recalled the achievements and the many projects initiated to support basic sports and youth activities together with Sport and Health and the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit, represented on the occasion by the presidents Marco Mezzaroma and Beniamino Quintieri. Sports, in fact, is first of all a social infrastructure: is 1.6 billion euros invested for modern, accessible and close to citizens. Among the projects, there are those linked to the “Ciavano model”, with a new program of urban regeneration and social cohesion that allocates 180 million to eight areas of the country characterized by high vulnerability.
“We have strengthened the value chain and the sums are growing, they are never seen before in the history of the country. We are over two thirds of the route and we are convinced that we could leave a better condition than that found – the words of Abodi -. These three years have been invested to try to find a tune that objectively lacked, for different reasons. There is no minister who has no contributions to these great events. I think there has never been a government that had the ability to relate the themes.”.
Among the relevant themes is the stadiums, with particular reference to the European football of 2032; in this regard, the minister explained that a measure is coming “for another 100 million that will contribute to the equity stadi fund and that it will allow to travel in parallel with the activity of Commissioner Sessa for the requalification or realization of the stages aimed at Euro 2032, about eleven / twelve projects”.
As mentioned, present also Mezzaroma, which has emphasized how the Government is investing “significant resources for the promotion of physical activity in terms of projects, bands and investments on sports equipment”, placing emphasis on the “vision of working in group” of the minister, “to involve all subjects, public and not. The data on the improvement of the sedentary index are positive, the effort that all subjects are putting in place is important, although the path is still long”.
For his part, Quintieri has evidenced that “we have been growing for three years, in which we financed 1,200 sports infrastructures and invested a billion euros, of which 500 million in only 2024, with a growth of 30%. We imagine continuing growth in the next few years, we imagine we can invest 4 billion euros in the next five years, also expanding the field of action.”.
