Presented to the Bit “Palermo Winter” the project of Assoturismo Confesercenti with Comune and Expedia

PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – The project of Assoturismo Confesercenti Palermo in support of “Palermo 365”, the plan of the Municipal Councillor for Tourism to develop tourist development strategies over the entire calendar year was premiered at BIT 2026. “Palermo – said Corinna Scaletta, president of Assoturismo Palermo – has no overtourism problem. It has a seasonal concentration problem: large numbers in the summer months, but a strong gap between potential and results from November to March. The challenge is not to reduce flows in high season, but to extend the tourist season and increase the average stay”. Hence the project “Palermo Winter”, a territorial marketing action that arises from a structured governance between the Municipality of Palermo, Assoturismo Confesercenti and Expedia Group Media Solutions. An operating model that exploits existing data banks, crossing winter routes and target markets and creating a digital infrastructure dedicated to the territory and an offer of winter proposals designed for short stays of 3-4 days: authentic experiences, thematic itineraries, enhancement of neighborhoods, enogastronomy identity, coordinated supply chain services. Project and portal will in turn become instruments of verification of results through concrete indicators such as average stay, land spending, distribution of flows, visitor satisfaction, economic and social sustainability, positioning quality, employment continuity.
