MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Kia India has started production of Syros, a versatile SUV designed specifically for the needs of the Indian market. Officially unveiled in December 2024, Syros sets new standards in the SUV segment in terms of design, technology and space. Kia held an official ceremony at its plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, to celebrate the start of Syros production, building on the considerable enthusiasm generated by the world premiere last December. The event was attended by Kia executives and employees, including Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia Corporation, and Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director of Kia India. The new SUV has already garnered 10,258 pre-orders, confirming Syros’ significant potential in the Indian market. The five-seat Syros was designed and built following an in-depth analysis of market trends in India, so that it can fully meet the needs and demands of consumers on the subcontinent. “We are delighted with the interest our customers in India have already shown in the new Syros SUV,” said Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia. “This is a positive sign ahead of the Syros’ market launch and a testament to Kia’s focus on its customers, offering vehicles of value through their inherent features and innovative services.” The advanced design, functionality and connectivity features offered on Syros have been the driving factors behind the great interest generated in the market by this innovative SUV.Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy naturally declines bold lines with functional versatility to result in an unprecedented, family-focused SUV with striking, futuristic and sophisticated aesthetics.Syros’ distinct functionality and elegant design enhance interior space to the highest level. Syros also features innovative technologies that introduce new standards in the SUV segment, going to meet the demands of Indian consumers, who are increasingly attentive to the latest trends, features and sophisticated materials.The new SUV offers, first in its segment, sliding, reclining and ventilated rear seats, as well as state-of-the-art connectivity with more than 80 features. Syros is also distinguished by a panoramic dual-panel sunroof, a Harman Kardon Premium audio system with 8 Speakers and, again first in its segment, Over-the-Air (OTA) software update capability.Safety-related features have been further enhanced with the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 16 autonomous functions, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, a 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. All of this is complemented by a suite of 20 standard safety features, such as Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist control, six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management and Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, ensuring the highest level of protection for both driver and passengers. Syros sales will start in India on Feb. 1, with customer deliveries to follow closely. Kia also plans to launch Syros in markets in Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East.
