ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The president of the Regional Council of Lazio, Antonello Aurigemma, participated in the celebratory ceremony of the fifth edition of the project “Comuni Plastic Free”, the national initiative dedicated to the recognition of local administrations who have distinguished themselves for the commitment to environmental protection and the fight against plastic pollution. The project, which in the last five years has created a virtuous network involving hundreds of municipalities throughout Italy, represents a point of reference for the promotion of policies active against the abandonment of waste and for the awareness of citizens towards a sustainable management of the territory.
“To participate in this fifth edition is a sign of strong closeness of the Regional Council to all those mayors and administrators who, with courage and vision, put environmental protection at the centre of their political agenda,” said Aurigemma. “Latium is proud to support a path that transforms ecological sensitivity into concrete actions: from the reduction of disposable plastic to the reclamation of degraded areas. There is no future without sustainable management of our resources and this award shows that the synergy between institutions, associations and citizens is the key to winning the climate challenge,” he added.
