BERGAMO (ITALPRESS) – The State Police of Bergamo has arrested a man of Eritrean origin resident in Milan, 47 years old, for aid of illegal immigration and competition in the production of false documents valid for expatriation, in the context of the migration phenomenon coming from the region of Africa-East, so called “the Horn of Africa”.
The arrest at the end of an investigative activity, coordinated by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Bergamo, initiated by the local mobile team together with the police officers of the Frontier Police Office at the air port of Orio al Serio (BG) that, between May and July last, arrested six different eritreans because found in possession of false documents apparently produced in Europe (mostly Spanish, Belgian, Swedish identity cards).
The activity of careful analysis of the trips made by Eritrean migrants departing from Orio al Serio airport, with destination countries of Northern Europe, has allowed investigators to reconstruct the operating modes of departure management.
In fact, it emerged that the reservations of the various tickets were made by a single person always using the same e-mail box and using the same credit card. In the light of these elements, the investigations focused on the arbitration, a forty-seven-year-old resident in Milan, with several precedents for crimes against heritage and falsehood, for about 20 years in Italy possessing the title of stays for subsidiary protection. Investigative insights have made it possible to ascertain that people leaving were systematically accompanied at the airport by the investigator providing them with directions until the next boarding stage.
The investigations, also of a technical nature, with telephone, environmental and telematic interceptions have allowed to acquire further feedback. Yesterday, considering that the investigation was about to leave the national territory using a false document to return home, a personal cautionary measure was carried out in prison issued by the Court of Bergamo. The man was in fact stopped at the boarding of the Milan-Malpensa air frontier while he was headed to Istanbul and led to the surrounding house of Bergamo.
At the same time the G.I.P. of Bergamo issued the real measure of the preventive seizure of the vehicle used by the trafficker to accompany migrants. The credit card used for transactions was seized as a result of home search.
