ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports (Fise) and the National Association of Italian Municipalities (Anci) have officially signed today a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting the spread of equestrian sports on the national territory and to strengthen the collaboration between sports institutions and local administrations. The signing of the Protocol took place during an official ceremony, in the presence of representatives of the two local organizations and institutions, with the aim of encouraging access to equestrian activities for young people, citizens and disabled people, while enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of Italian Municipalities. “With this protocol we want to bring the culture and values of equestrian sports to local communities, promoting social inclusion, motor education and respect for the environment – explains the president of Fise, Marco Di Paola – The horse thus becomes a real tool of growth, not only sporty, but also educational and cultural”.
“This protocol – the words of the vice-president of Anci Roberto Pella, delegated to sports, health, youth policies and internal areas – is a concrete step in strengthening the role of municipalities as fundamental presìdi for social cohesion, health and promotion of community welfare. Through the collaboration with Fise we want to make equestrian sports increasingly accessible, especially to young people and people more fragile, enhancing inclusion and equal opportunities. Municipalities are the first place where relationships are built, healthy lifestyles are promoted and educational paths are developed that can combine sports, respect for the environment and attention to the person.” Among the main initiatives envisaged by the protocol: promotion of the practice of equestrian sports in schools and youth centres; enhancement of hippotherapy and integrated horsemanship; involvement of municipalities in Fise projects, promoting the development of dedicated plants and green areas; promotion of a sports culture based on fair-play, respect for animals and fight against bullying, doping and discrimination. The Memorandum of Understanding will last three years and provides for the establishment of a joint working group between Fise and Anci to coordinate all initiatives and ensure the effective implementation of projects on the national territory.
