ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The budget for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers was published on the Government website. Overall, budget appropriations totalled EUR 5.7 billion. Of these, 101 million euros will be poured into the state to respect the objectives of review of expenditure for 2026. In line with the Government programme and the appropriations provided for by the Budget Act, the budget of the Council Presidency provides: the increase in resources for family policies, amounting to 205 million, with an increase of 63.5 million (+44.81%); the increase in appropriations for the Equal Opportunities, amounting to 154 million, with an increase of 17.5 million (+12.83%); increased resources for the universal civil service, amounting to 382 million, with an increase of 48 million (+14.39%); further investment in sports policies, amounting to 299 million, with an increase of 46.8 million (+18.57%). In addition to a billion and 200 million euros the appropriations for the needs of Civil Protection, with particular attention to the interventions for the prevention of natural disasters and seismic risk; In addition, new loans amounting to EUR 41 million are planned for the intervention of the Commissioner for Water Scarcity.
As part of the wider commitment of the Meloni Government on the renewal of public employee contracts, the contractual renewal of the CCNL of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for the three-year period 2019-2021 was unlocked. The procedure for the subsequent contractual return was also initiated. At the same time, the structures were strengthened to respond to the new functions established by the Political Authority, starting from policies for the South. Finally, the budget certifies a general decrease in expenditure items for goods and services, in particular for missions, events, representation and mobility, also thanks to the implementation of the General Secretary Directive of 12 September 2025, which called on the heads of the different structures of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to a further reduction of five percent on the initial appropriations envisaged.
