Quintieri “Increasing investments of 39% in sport, encouraging trend”

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – “For more than 3,000 projects only in the last year we had an increase in investments of 39% in sport”. Beniamino Quintieri, president of the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit, during the event “Milano Cortina 2026: the economy of sport and mountain” organized by Confindustria at the Triennale di Milano, underlining that, while remaining below the European average, “the trend of investments of recent years is encouraging”.

“In investing in sports for all, in some areas, involves a social benefit of four and five times, that is, for every euro invested in sports you have a social return of 4-5 times – added Quintieri – A limit is that of the great infrastructures. There is a problem of finance, but there are international funds increasingly interested in investing in sports, we must be more and more able to intercept them.”.

Quintieri then explained that “the awareness is increasingly widespread that sport is not only agonistic activity, but that behind there are the economy, sociality, the territory. Sports infrastructure contribute to urban regeneration processes that many areas of the country need. We are the fifth country in the world for sports manufacturing export: we have almost 5 billion export. We were the third exporting country in the world with a share of more than 11% regarding the weight of manufacturing in winter sports,” said Quintieri.
