Ranieri warns Roma “Strong port, intensity needed”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “Porto has very good ball possession and very interesting players, so we will have to play a great game. We will have to be super focused. We know how they play, but they know how to change type of game: we need intensity and naturalness. I want a Roma that plays the same way at home and away. The boys are working to give the satisfaction that the fans deserve.” Claudio Ranieri said this in a press conference on the eve of Porto-Roma, the first leg match of the Europa League playoff. “Anselmi is a great guy, if at 38 years old he leads such an emblazoned team he deserves compliments. I wish him great satisfaction, but not in this double challenge,” the Giallorossi coach stressed in reference to the Portuguese coach. “Pellegrini? All my players are starters, especially now that we play every 3-4 days. He is an important player and one I respect, but at certain times of the match I prefer others. I know what he can give me and when I understand that he can give it to me 100 percent, he plays,” Ranieri concluded. Also present in the conference was Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar: “Steps forward for the renewal? Yes, we started talking about it last week, but I don’t think too much about it; I only think about the field. For me, soccer is the most important thing,” he explained, “So much has changed in my life in these seven years. I feel good, I only think about soccer, I think about tomorrow and winning games. I am grateful to Roma who gave me the opportunity to show myself in soccer.”- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
