ROME (ITALPRESS) – The four Israeli female soldiers involved in the prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas, as per the agreement that led to the Gaza ceasefire, have been released earlier than initially planned. A Red Cross convoy of four vehicles left Rafah for the Kerem Shalom crossing to enter Gaza City, where the release of Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy and Liri Albag took place in the square. Several dozen Hamas fighters gathered in the square in Gaza City. The four female soldiers, before being handed over to the Red Cross, were paraded on a stage in front of the crowd and media present and will now be taken to a military base near the border, where they will undergo an initial screening. From there they will be transported to a hospital to meet their families for the first time after 477 days of captivity. Under the terms of the agreements, in exchange for their release Israel has pledged to return 200 Palestinian detainees who are in custody. At the same time, long applause broke out from the crowd gathered in Tel Aviv to mark the joy and satisfaction at the release.
