ROME (ITALPRESS) – Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric completes the brand’s electric vehicle offering in the C-segment. With a mix of electric modernity, useful technologies and more sustainable design, it reinterprets the DNA of the “voiture à vivre” for the family to meet the challenges of its times. It also embodies Renault’s sustainable development strategy, attentive to the well-being of its passengers as well as the planet.
“Scenic E-tech Electric is the spearhead of Renault’s offering in the electric world dedicated to the family, thanks to its range of up to 625 kilometers (625 miles) with a fast charge of up to 150 kW to meet the needs of families who want to unplug. “But what kind of family are we talking about? Mom and dad, young, with 2 teenage children who are thinking of leaving for a long weekend, maybe to go to Milan from Rome.” This is how Raffaele Fusilli, Ad of Renault Italy tells about the product through that of a family trip on board Scenic E-tech Electric.
“They get into the car, and the kids sit in the back seats-we know today’s teenagers, they are tall, but in the back they find a good 28 cm of knee room, which is incredibly comfortable. Then they arrange their luggage being 4, and they have a trunk capacity of 545 liters, so they can take everything they need for a nice vacation, and off we go! But at this point a small miracle happens: they look up and see this Solarbay roof developed in partnership with Saint Gobain, which is an amazing technological innovation: it can be opaque or lightened by dividing into 4 segments. The kids want to play with the tablet in the back seats? No problem! Their part of the roof will be opaque while mom and dad’s will be completely transparent, so they can enjoy the sky and the colors of the day. And they are on the road–a dynamic, fun ride, because with the Scenic’s 220hp, the adrenaline is felt, the torque is immediate, the dynamism is delightful. And all this gives them great driving pleasure,” Fusilli concludes.
Scenic E-Tech Electric, in fact, offers a cabin designed for the comfort and well-being of all occupants. Starting with benchmark interior roominess, despite its small footprint, thanks to its dedicated electric platform, wheels positioned at the four corners of the body, long 2.78-meter wheelbase, flat floorpan and compact battery pack.
There is plenty of room for passengers, with a rear knee radius of 278 mm, but also for luggage, with a trunk volume of 545 liters. The innovative Solarbay panoramic opaque glass roof, and the “ingenius” rear armrest, complete the “all comfort” features of the cabin. They help redefine the on-board experience, just like the OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google, the infotainment Apps, and the vehicle’s unique sound signature, born of an extraordinary collaboration with artist, composer and author Jean-Michel Jarre. Scenic E-Tech Electric prioritizes the pleasure of electric driving.
With up to 160 kW (220 hp) powertrain, compact dimensions and dedicated AmpR Medium electric platform, it offers a dynamic and agile drive suitable for any route. With its 87 kWh battery, Scenic E-Tech Electric reassures those accustomed to grinding out miles. All this peace of mind is also guaranteed by the compatibility of all versions with direct current fast charging from stations located on or near highways, as well as with alternating current (AC) charging from household columns. Scenic E-Tech Electric is the first 100% electric car designed for the family according to sustainability criteria. The vehicle is composed of at least 24 percent materials from the circular economy and 90 percent of its mass is recyclable in industrial recycling supply chains, as established by Directive 2005/64/EC. Each of the 12 battery modules is individually repairable.
It does not use leather for the interior or have rare earths for the electric motor. In contrast to the market, it is not oversized in terms of size and weight, with only 1.85 tons for 625 km of range. Four trims are available: Evolution, Techno, Esprit Alpine and Iconic. Prices start from 40,060 euros for the 170-horsepower Comfort Range Evolution version to 50,450 euros for the top-of-the-line 220-horsepower Long Range Iconic.
