Right to study, to Italy the vice-presidency of Ecsta

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Emilio Di Marzio, president pro tempore of Andisu, the association that brings together the bodies for the right to study in Italy, was elected last night, for the next two years, vice president of ECSTA (European Council For Student Affairs), the organization that coordinates and represents the different realities of student services in all European countries, including Turkey.

“This is a strategic role for Italy, through which to promote the social dimension of higher education in Europe, improve understanding of differences in services between countries, and encourage the exchange of best practices and mobility among students and professionals as part of the Bologna Process, designed to make higher education systems in Europe more coherent,” Di Marzio says.

“Expanding and improving residences and dining services, adequately supporting scholarships, and expanding social and psychological counseling services are some of the key planks in creating a more just environment for European students, especially disadvantaged students. And on these issues we will have to hold continuous discussions with the European Commission. I am therefore very grateful to my colleagues for this opportunity and my best wishes to ECSTA President-elect Matthias Anbuhl (President of Deutsches Studierendenwerk) and all other fellow members of the Assembly and Board,” Di Marzio concludes.
