RIYADH (SAUDI ARABIA) (ITALPRESS) – Roberto Mancini is no longer the technical commissioner of Saudi Arabia. The federation, in fact, has confirmed that it has reached an agreement with the Italian coach that includes the termination of his contract as coach of the Saudi national soccer team. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (Saff) in a statement disclosed that: “The Board of Directors of the Football Federation reached an agreement today that provides for the consensual termination of the contractual relationship. The Federation thanks coach Roberto Mancini and wishes him many successes in his career. The Executive Board confirms that the name of the next first team coach will be announced in the coming days after the final and official conclusion of the contractual procedure.” Roberto Mancini began his adventure with Saudi Arabia in August 2023, about two weeks after resigning as coach of the Azzurri national team that he led to the roof of Europe in 2021 but failed to qualify for the 2024 World Cup. After his divorce with the Figc, the signing of a multimillion-dollar contract (rumored at 25 million a season) with Saudi Arabia, but many difficulties in getting the job done amid unsatisfactory results and misunderstandings with players and the press. With Mancini as coach, Saudi Arabia has not gone beyond the round of 16 of the Asian Cup and is struggling in the World Cup qualifiers.
