Roma wins in Parma 1-0 with a magic from Soulè

PARMA (ITALPRESS) – Roma went through on the field of Parma. The Giallorossi win 1-0, thanks to a magic strike by Soulè, straight from a free kick, and get their ninth straight useful result in the league (with three consecutive away wins). Ranieri’s turn over works at the “Tardini”; Pecchia’s Parma disappoints, left with ten men at 31′, due to the expulsion of Leoni. It’s crisis for the Emilians, who in 2025 have scored only two points in seven matches played. On the pitch, things soon turned ugly for the hosts. On 31′ Shomurodov comes up with a filter for Soulè, who penetrates the box and is knocked down by Leoni. Referee Chiffi pointed to the penalty spot and cautioned the defender but Var corrected the decision: free kick from the limit in favor of Roma and red for the 18-year-old Parma player. The scenario changes again a minute later, because the spot kick from the edge of the area is in fact a penalty for Soulè, who with a soft left-footer clears the cobwebs from the crossbar of the posts. The Argentine’s only jarring note in the first half was a yellow picked up for a jubilation deemed provocative by the assistant. At halftime, ahead of the return match with Porto in the Europa League, Ranieri decided to give rest to Mancini and Kone and inserted Nelsson and Pellegrini. Roma came close to doubling the score at 52′ and it was Suzuki who took center stage, first saying no to Soulè and then repeating himself on Salah-Eddine’s tap in with a sure shot, blocking the ball before it crossed the line completely. The extreme defender also kept Parma alive at 57′, when in a dive he repelled Pellegrini’s left-footed shot into the corner. Pecchia’s team waits and looks for the restart. In 62′ Cancellieri tries, but his left-footed shot is out of reach. Roma does not go on the assault for 2-0, but just manages the pace and possession. Parma tries a siege at the last but the Giallorossi defend neatly. Roma moves closer to the top of the standings; the Ducali are increasingly in the red zone.- photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
