MOSCA (RUSSIA) (ITALPRESS) – Ukraine “has launched an attack” against the Russian presidential residence located in the Novgorod region. The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, said this, according to the news agency Tass.
“On the night of 29 December 2025, the Kiev regime launched a terrorist attack with 91 long-range drones against the Russian presidential residence in the Novgorod region. All drones were destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces air defense systems,” said Lavrov.
Russia has identified the objectives and time of “a retaliation attack” following that carried out by drones to the state residence of President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced it to journalists. “The targets of retaliation attacks and times for their implementation by the Russian Armed Forces have been determined,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry according to Tass.

These are the words of the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, who on X has replicated the accusations made by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov. The Russian minister declared that an attack by Kiev with 91 drones had attempted to strike Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region. “Russia tries again, using dangerous statements to undermine all the results of our diplomatic efforts shared with President Trump’s team. We continue to work together to approach peace,” wrote Zelensky. “It is a complete invention to justify further attacks against Ukraine, including Kiev, as well as the refusal of Russia itself to take the necessary measures to end the war,” he continued adding that it is “typical Russian lies”.
