Santanchè “A Riad to strengthen relations between Italy and Saudi Arabia”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, arrived in Riad, for an institutional mission oriented to the strengthening of tourist relations between Italy and Saudi Arabia. The minister, read in a note of the Mitur, will participate in the twenty-sixth session of the General Assembly of UN Tourism, in which a high-level debate will take place on the centrality of artificial intelligence, and then take part in the bilateral round table in the context of Tourise, new platform launched by the Saudi Arabia that aims to define the future of world tourism, together with a delegation of Italian companies, such as Arsenale, Ferrovieci.

As pointed out by the MAECI Economic Observatory, the economic relations between Italy and Saudi Arabia speak of an active and growing trade balance in favour of Belpaese, with 966 million euros in the first half of 2025, and a value of the Italian export that flows 2.9 billion euros. The 79 Italian companies registered on Saudi soil employ more than 10 thousand employees and generate aggregate turnover close to 2 billion euros. And tourist relations are equally significant. The Saudi flows in Italy, according to Banca d’Italia, are growing: in 2024, there were over 322 thousand arrivals and 1.7 million attendance (+65% on 2023), for a spending greater than half a billion euros (+13%) and an overall economic impact estimated at 1,37 billion.

“This institutional journey is a fundamental strategic step to consolidate the Italian presence in a rapidly expanding market – said Minister Santanchè – and to enhance our excellence by looking at a sustainable and competitive development of the national tourism industry.”.
