Among the Italian regions, in the first place is Tuscany, followed by Campania and Emilia-Romagna. Looking at European destinations, the leader sees Spain, followed by France and Greece.

Comment Manfred Pinzger, President of Confturismo Confcommercio: “It is increasingly the climate that influences the Italian holiday calendar. September, thanks to mild temperatures, less crowding and greater convenience, is turning into a real holiday month. A trend that contributes to more distribution of tourist flows and to extend the season. Compared to the central months of summer, September offers more favourable conditions for those seeking relaxation and good weather. This is how traveller habits change and, with them, even the times of departures”.
