Sequestered at Turin airport 8.6 kg of cocaine, Peruvian arrest

TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Operators of the Customs and Monopoli Agency, in collaboration with the military of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Turin, have intercepted the Airport “Sandro Pertini” a man of Peruvian origin coming from Lima (Peru), via Paris.

Unsuspected by the evasive and contradictory answers provided by the traveler, on the basis of the travel and the destinations of the stay in Italy, they carried out an accurate inspection of his cargo luggage, resulting in a total of 8.6 kilograms of cocaine, skillfully hidden inside a double bottom of the suitcase and in the covers and padded of the backpack, bags and the passenger vest.

The astounding substance found was placed under seizure, while the courier was under arrest on the charge of “traffic and unlawful detention of narcotic or psychotropic substances”, punished by the reclusion from 6 to 20 years and with the fine from 26 thousand to 260 thousand euros. The unlawful placing on the market of the intercepted cocaine match would have yielded over a million euros.
