RACA (SERBIA) (ITALPRESS) – “An initiative of sports diplomacy, but above all of solidarity.” With these words the Ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Luca Gori, inaugurated the kindergarten in the Popovic district, in the municipality of Raca, together with Mayor Branko Radosavljevic. Also present at the opening ceremony were Novak Djokovic Foundation Director Maja Kremic and Banca Intesa PR and Marketing Director Sandra Lazarevic. The facility was built thanks to fundraising efforts organized by the Embassy of Italy in Serbia in cooperation with the Djokovic Foundation and the Intesa Foundation on the occasion of the “Match of the Heart” played on October 5 between the National Team of the Heart Actors and Singers, led by President Giovanni Cali’, and the veterans of Red Star. “We wanted to dedicate the Day of Italian Sport in the World,” the Ambassador continued, “to a charity activity aimed at children. Thanks to donations from companies and citizens who attended the soccer match, we achieved an important goal: the opening of the first kindergarten in this small community, where about 40 children will be able to enroll. This is an achievement we are proud of, which once again testifies to the deep ties between our two countries and Italy’s commitment to contribute to Serbia’s social development.”
