Shoots of the Israeli armed forces against Unifil in Lebanon, wounded a military

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “This morning, heavy machine gunshots from positions of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) south of the Blue Line hit a UNIFIL patrol that was inspecting a blockade in the village of Bastarra. The shots are followed by the explosion of a nearby grenade.” It makes known the same UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.
“Although there were no damage to the UNIFIL means, the noise of the shots and the explosion left a peacekeeper slightly wounded with a concussion – the note continues –. In another incident that took place today, in the village of Kfar Shouba, another patrol that was carrying out a routine operational task reported gunshots from the Israeli side in the immediate vicinity of its location.”
UNIFIL had informed IDF in advance of activities in those areas, following the usual practice for patrols in sensitive areas near the Blue Line. “The attacks against or close to peacekeeping forces constitute serious violations of Security Council Resolution 1701 – UNIFIL concludes. We renew the call to IDFs to cease aggressive behavior and attacks against or near the peacekeeping forces working for peace and stability along the Blue Line.”.
