ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Intesa Protocol between the Minister for Sport and Youth and the Italian Banking Association (ABI) has been signed to give full implementation to the new asset of the Fund for Youth Credit, the instrument that, thanks to the guarantee of the State, facilitates access to credit for worthy students. The signature follows the publication in the Official Journal of the Interministerial Decree that renews and strengthens the Fund, strengthening the public guarantee and introducing more favourable conditions for young beneficiaries.
“With the signing of this Protocol we strengthen a fundamental collaboration with the national banking system to make the Fund for Credit for Young People an increasingly accessible and effective tool,” says Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi. “The relaunch of the Fund is part of a broader vision that aims to strengthen the autonomy of new generations in training choices, allowing more and more young people to decide freely where and how to train, overcoming the economic constraints that often affect the courses of study and also the subsequent ones”, the Minister points out.
“The Fund for Youth Credit is based on a clear principle of merit, opportunity and shared responsibility: the State creates the conditions to offer opportunities to all and because no talent remains behind; the young beneficiaries of the Fund, returning what is received, will allow other young people to be able to benefit in turn. It is a pact of trust between institutions and new generations, a rotational mechanism and solidarity that strengthens the public value of investment in knowledge. It will be fundamental to the knowledge of this tool entrusted to the efficient management of Consap in collaboration with the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service, which will be able to count on the promotion through the system of Universities, the network of banks, our platforms Giovani2030 and National Youth Card, with its 3 million and 700 digital holders active from 18 to 35 years”, concludes Minister Abodi.
The new structure raises the maximum amount of funding up to 50,000 euros for study courses in Italy and 70,000 euros for those abroad, with sustainable returns and compatible with entry into the world of work. Eligible training courses are also expanded, including universities, ITS, AFAM, masters, language courses and studies abroad.
“With the signing of the Protocol – declares the General Manager of ABI, Marco Elio Rottigni – the banking world strengthens its commitment to support and enhance the talent of new generations, as a strategic priority to respond to the profound changes in place influenced by economic, social and technological challenges. This commitment directs the activities of ABI with banks in synergy, valorisation of resources also individual and long-term sustainable development – continued Director Rottigni – This initiative, oriented to promote the maximum efficiency of the Fund and which sees the fundamental collaboration between institutions and banking sector to support educational and cultural inclusion, training and social mobility, can play a significant role to contribute to mitigating the gap in the number of graduates compared to the average of the European Union countries. To invest in its future by addressing with greater solidity and autonomy the path of growth of its competences is an indispensable lever of development, sustainability and competitiveness of the Country”.
The Fund is supported by a digital platform managed by CONSAP to simplify access to guaranteed funding. “Today, with the signing of the protocol with ABI by Minister Andrea Abodi, we make the students worthy ‘bancabili’, recognizing in young people a patrimony to be valued, as the Governor of the Bank of Italy wrote, Fabio Panetta, in a letter sent to me a few days ago in which he wanted to express the applause for the financial support initiative aimed at students, an intervention of particular cultural value not only on the concrete level, but also. In fact, it is a far-sighted action that recognizes in young people a precious heritage to protect and value. Thanks to the synergy between Consap and the Government, we maintain the commitment made with the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, who, in a message sent during the Thirty Years of Consap in 2023, asked us explicitly to: “Relaunch, digitize, simplify, strengthen the Study Fund”. With the guarantee of the state, the worthy students will be able to access a funding to continue their studies, because investing on them means investing in the future of Italy”, says Consap S.p.A., Sestino Giacomoni.
