ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The General Assembly of the EIF (International Equestrian Federation), which ended today in Hong Kong (China), has officialized the election of Simone Perillo in the Board of the International Federation. There are good news for Italy of equestrian sports. The election of Simone Perillo, secretary general of the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports and vice president of the European Equestrian Federation, is the result of an important team and diplomacy work of the Italian Federation and its president, Marco Di Paola. A large majority outcome from the entire Assembly (69 in favour, 4 against and 1 abstention). This is also an important result for the prestige of Italian equestrian sports, which will be able to count on its own representative in the direction of world equestrian sport. The Federal Council with the President, Marco Di Paola, expressed his satisfaction with this important success.
At the event, which annually brings together all the world of equestrian sports at international level, representatives of national equestrian federations from all over the world participated. Simone Perillo, (52 years old), Neapolitan of birth, but now Roman of adoption is a manager with significant experiences in the industrial sector and in the management of sports. In 2017 he was appointed Secretary General of the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports, then in 2021 he joined the Board of the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), of which he became vice president just 7 October. “I am very pleased – said Perillo – for the wide vote of trust received in Hong Kong at the FEI General Assembly. It is a significant recognition of the authoritativeness of FISE and the entire Italian equestrian sports movement, which has a consolidated tradition and includes numerous excellences projected towards the future”.
Today’s FEI Assembly has intervened Niccolò Campriani, Italian Olympic extraordinary and now VicePresident for Sports – Los Angeles 2028, with a presentation that illustrated the great importance of equestrian sports in the Olympic landscape and presented the headquarters of the next Games for the disciplines of riding: was a source of inspiration. “I will do my best to contribute to the continued growth of Equestrian Sports in Italy and internationally,” concluded Perillo.
