EDIMBURGH (SCOTLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Italrugby is defeated by Scotland in its debut match of the Six Nations 2025. At Murrayfield, in front of nearly 80,000 spectators, it ends 31-19 for the Scottish XV. The first half had ended 19-9 for the hosts, with three goals scored, while Italy remained in the match thanks to three squares by Allan. The start of the second half was of the Azzurri brand: another square, then Brex’s converted try put the match back on an even keel (19-19). Scotland woke up and scored two tries with Jones (best on the field) in 5′ bringing the score largely back in their favor (31-19). “It was similar last year, we started on 14-0, then we fought back. You can see that some work is missing, today they scored four easy goals. The difference was here,” commented coach Quesada. “We then made some concentration errors and we cannot afford it,” the words of Ange Capuozzo. Italy returns to play next Saturday for the 2nd round: opponent at the Olympic Stadium in Rome will be Warren Gatland’s Wales in the first of three home fixtures.- photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
