ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Piacenza Sogin and Emilia-Romagna Region have signed, in the headquarters of the Province of Piacenza, the agreement that regulates the respective areas of action in order to realize the participations previewed from the contract of Fiume Media Valle del Po in the municipalities involved. The agreement was signed in the presence of Irene Priolo, Environment Councillor, Territorial Planning, Mobility and Transport, Infrastructures of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Gian Luca Artizzu, managing director of Sogin. At the meeting were present: Monica Patelli, president of the Province of Piacenza, and the mayors and administrators of the Municipalities of Besenzone, Calendasco, Caorso, Castelvetro Piacentino, Cortemaggiore, Monticelli D’Ongina, Piacenza, Rottofreno, San Pietro in Cerro, Sarmato and Villanova sull’Arda. The agreement was concluded in accordance with Article 1 of the Programme Agreement signed between the Emilia-Romagna Region and Sogin on 6 November 2024.
The financial commitment that Sogin makes available to the Emilia-Romagna region is approximately four million euros, equal to 2% of the agreed cost so far for the disposal of the nuclear power plant in Caorso (PC). “The signature concludes a complex iter from the procedural and legal point of view, lasted two years – said Gian Luca Artizzu, Ad di Sogin – who allowed us to find solutions to define a clear picture in which to operate. For this reason I am particularly satisfied – Artizzu added – because this Agreement allows Sogin on the one hand to contribute concretely to the development of the territory of Piacenza and, on the other, to give concreteness to the paths already started in the other territories in which we are present”.
