Sports and tourism to promote Italy, comes “Triathlon Experience”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – A project that combines great sporting events and tourism promotion, enhancing the triathlon itself as a tool for the story of Italian territories. It is “Triathlon Experience”, presented by FiTri, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, at the Coni Hall in Rome.

“There are many ways to export the best image of our country in the world – said the number one of the Federation, Riccardo Giubilei – The best, what we travel, regarding the triathlon, is the creation and organization of quality sports events in beautiful locations in Italy, so that the image of our athletes travails the boundaries of the classic races promoting sports tourism in the world”.

A project carried out with the government and institutions, in particular with the Ministry of Tourism, with the aim of promoting Italian excellence: “This is the indication that the government is carrying out: Triathlon Experience is a bridge between sports events and places through which the promotion of our country goes,” added Giubilei.

Through high-level international competitions, set in art cities such as Rome, in coastal areas such as Alghero and Taranto and in mountain contexts such as Padola, in the province of Belluno, the project aims to promote a sustainable and seasonally adjusted sports tourism model, capable of generating economic, cultural and identity value for the territories involved.

“Tourism and sport must go hand in hand – says Daniela Santanché, Minister of Tourism – and must help achieve goals such as seasonal adjustment, sustainability and help make known those areas that are less known to the international tourist offer but not for these less beautiful. I think sport is an important investment both for tourism promotion and health-saving”.

Speakers during the presentation of the project also Caterina Vacchi, Executive Board Member World Triathlon, Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for the Great Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Rome Capital, Pietro Bitetti, mayor of Taranto, and Roberto Padrin, president of the Province of Belluno.
