Strike, public transport, trains and cabs stop across Italy

ROME (ITALPRESS) – A national general strike by grassroots unions, mainly affecting the transport sector, kicked off at 9 p.m. last night. In Milan, at the end of the guarantee band, which ended at 8:45 a.m., the M1 stopped, while all other subway lines are open. In Rome, the guarantee band ended 8:30 a.m. and will start again from 5 to 8 p.m. Metros A and C are closed. Train crews are stopping until 8:59 p.m. tonight. Regional trains comply with guarantee bands. Numerous national and regional trains canceled or delayed. The companies have already announced on their sites the connections and trains that are still guaranteed. Cab drivers will also stop from 00.01 to 23.59 today, subject to the guarantee of essential services and compliance with the guarantee bands, in accordance with current regulations.
