Strong earthquake tremor between Puglia, Molise and Abruzzo. Magnitude of 4.6

FOGGIA (ITALPRESS) – An earthquake tremor of magnitude 4.6 was recorded at 8:37 p.m. by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology off the Gargano coast. The event was located at a depth of 1 kilometer, between Puglia and the Tremiti Islands. The quake was also felt in Molise and Abruzzo.

No reports of damage or distress calls have reached the fire department operations room at the moment after the ML 4.7 earthquake tremor recorded by INGV at 8:37 p.m. on the Gargano Coast in the Foggia area.

Following the seismic event recorded at 8:37 p.m. by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, in the province of Foggia, with epicenter located in the sea, of magnitude ML 4.6, the Italian Situation Room of the Civil Protection Department contacted the local structures of the National Civil Protection Service. Initial verifications made following the event indicated no damage to persons or property. Around 9 p.m., the earth shook again in the same places, especially in Foggiano, where a second intense tremor was felt.

After the magnitude 4.7 quake at a depth of 10 km, two more quakes of magnitude 2.9 and 3.8 occurred with epicenter off San Nicandro on the Garganiza coast.
