Strong growth of BYD in Italy in the last quarter 2024

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – BYD ended 2024 globally with extraordinary results, exceeding its targets. More than 4.25 million cars sold against a lower target of 4 million, registering a 41 percent growth over the previous year. As many as 60% of these are plug-in hybrid cars, which grew by 73% over last year. Results that not only determine the world record for NEV cars, but also see Italy as a country on the rise. In fact, the growth path of the BYD tech company in Italy continues successfully, as demonstrated by the results of the last quarter of the year. In fact, the company has reached more than 3,200 contracts, including more than 1,500 in the month of December: an increase that marks a remarkable leap, quintupling the numbers recorded in the previous quarter. This trend in constant exponential growth has allowed the company to register 2.886 units, rapidly climbing market share, reaching 0.6 percent in December, after an average for the first nine months of 0.09 percent. These numbers also certify the overtaking of some traditional Italian and European brands, which, despite the launch of new models, rank behind BYD’s technological products, capable of intercepting the needs of Italian customers. This success is also reflected in the electric LCV segment, where BYD took first place with a 17.7 percent market share. Results that were also achieved thanks to an advertising campaign on all channels launched in the last quarter that allowed Google searches to be multiplied by six, intercepting not only brand loyalists, but significantly transforming potential prospects into customer bases and thus increasing spontaneous entries at BYD stores. In addition, thanks to the TV campaign launched in the latter part of the year, Italians were able to learn about the qualities of the BYD tech company and its proprietary technologies such as the DM-i super Hybrid. The numbers showed that the campaign worked very well both in terms of increasing brand awareness and in terms of sales. A strategy implemented by the new Italian team, which boasts many years of consolidated experience, thanks to leading figures in the market, and which is committed to establishing Italian leadership in brand management in this growth path. A project started a few months ago and that will continue throughout 2025 both with the expansion of the team with figures of high competence and through the development of activities aimed at increasingly maximizing the autonomy of the Italian market with respect to its peculiarities. All this will go hand in hand with the increase of the sales and after-sales network, which already in these first months of the new management has arrived 28 stores, and which will see in 2025 an intense work activity to reach 105 stores throughout the country, with a share of at least 22 dealers and 70 stores opened in the first half of 2025.
