AUSTIN (USA) (ITALPRESS) – A Ferrari one-two in Austin. Charles Leclerc won the US GP ahead of teammate, Carlos Sainz. Third place for Max Verstappen who, despite finishing behind Norris, took advantage of a 5-second penalty imposed by race officials on the Englishman, earning the lowest step on the podium. Oscar Piastri’s McLaren finished fifth, Sergio Perez sixth, George Russell seventh, Hulkenberg eighth, Lawson ninth and Franco Colapinto tenth in the Williams.
“We are happy, I seemed to struggle to find the best feeling. After the sprint race we thought the others would improve instead we couldn’t dream of better – the words of the Monegasque driver at the end of the triumph in the States – In Turn 1 we launched well at the start, I knew we would end up very close, at the first corner. Yesterday I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, today I had an extraordinary pace and we did an excellent management. In short we had a very good pace for the weekend and in the race.
