ROME (ITALPRESS) – Mundys has seen its sustainability leadership confirmed, remaining again this year on the prestigious “A-list” of CDP, the international benchmark organization for assessing companies’ climate and environmental performance. This result, reads a note, “testifies to the ongoing commitment of Group companies that contribute to the implementation of a decarbonization strategy that includes more than 150 initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and managing climate change risks. On an industrial level, this translates into investments in infrastructure energy efficiency and transition, massive adoption of LED lighting, replacement of heating and cooling systems, electrification of company fleets, implementation of solar installations on managed infrastructure, and installation of electric charging points for vehicles.” All of this allowed Mundys to rank among the global excellences, out of a total of more than 24,800 companies analyzed, earning the top “A” score on a scale ranging from “D-” to “A”.The achievement is part of a multifaceted path that includes certification of CO2 emission reduction targets received from SBTi (Science Based Target Initiative), involvement in international working tables on the topic of decarbonization of the transportation sector, and integration of sustainability into its financing strategy.Mundys, the note recalls, was among the first companies in Italy to have a Climate Action Plan to promote the energy transition and decarbonization of economic activities along the entire value chain in airport, highway and mobility services, setting clear and concrete goals, including zero net direct emissions (Scope 1 & 2) by 2040. “The recognition,” it finally reads, “moreover comes following the recent inauguration by Aeroporti di Roma, a subsidiary of Mundys, of the new solar farm at Fiumicino airport, the largest self-consumption photovoltaic system in a European airport, which represents one of the main projects of the Group’s climate transition plan and a demonstration of how this is being concretely and progressively implemented.
